Phu Tho: A fisherman slipped and was swept away by floodwaters and died.

On the evening of August 26, the People's Committee of Muong Vang Commune, Phu Tho Province, said that heavy rain, rising river and stream water, swept away one victim to death.

Dangerous areas are warned to people by local authorities.

Accordingly, at around 2:00 p.m. on August 26, people in Moi 1 hamlet discovered a body stuck on the stream bank in Bai Chon area, Moi 1 hamlet, Muong Vang commune and reported it to local authorities.

Immediately after receiving the information, the authorities arrived at the scene and brought the body ashore. Through verification, the victim was identified as Mr. BVM (born in 1959), residing in Moi 2 hamlet, Muong Vang commune.

According to the villagers, at around 1pm on August 26, Mr. M. went fishing in the stream, unfortunately slipped and was swept away by floodwaters. Mr. M.'s body was found nearly 2km from the accident site.

After bringing the victim's body ashore, Muong Vang commune authorities completed the required documents and procedures and handed it over to the victim's family for burial.

Previously, due to the impact of storm No. 5, one person was also injured in Phu Tho province.

Phu Tho provincial authorities recommend that people limit travel, especially stay away from streams and creeks; do not fish during complicated storms and floods, when stream water is high and flowing rapidly, to ensure safety of life and property.
