Sleepless nights before "G hour": VNPT people contribute to creating a historic moment for the country

The official operation of the two-tier local government model from July 1, 2025 is not only an administrative event but also a historical milestone in national governance reform. Behind that success is a lightning-fast campaign in which VNPT Group is the "technology core": from processing population data, connecting public service portals, coordinating information technology infrastructure to ensuring information security.

Silent "white nights"

On the night of June 30, when Hai Phong city was already asleep, the "green warriors" of VNPT were still diligently reviewing the entire IT infrastructure system, updating the situation and fine-tuning operations, with the determination: Not to let any incident affect the first day of operation of the new government.

On the morning of July 1, when the city woke up, VNPT staff were present at public administrative service points, ready to support any technical issues and receive feedback during the implementation period. That proactive presence, with the spirit of Full Service on the day the new government came into operation, contributed significantly to helping the system operate smoothly at 114 points across the city.

In Lam Dong , one of the localities chosen as the official launch point for the new model, the preparation atmosphere had been boiling for many days before. On the night of June 29 and early morning of June 30, the entire VNPT technical team was on duty at the hotspots. The unit's leaders directly inspected and directed the implementation step by step. VNPT completed the installation of infrastructure, management software, video conferencing systems, digital signatures, etc. for all 124 commune-level administrative units of the province. In particular, the automatic Public Service Kiosk system integrated with AI, an exclusive initiative of VNPT Lam Dong, has been effective in supporting people to carry out procedures without the need for guidance staff, even supporting ethnic minority languages such as K'Ho, Mong, Ede.

At the same time, in Ninh Binh, Nghe An, Ho Chi Minh City and dozens of other provinces and cities, the local VNPT team also worked with "commands from the heart" to ensure that the "blood vessels" of data and information networks continuously flowed, so that the new government could operate smoothly from the very first moment.

In Nghe An, more than 300 VNPT staff were mobilized to spread across 130 communes and wards, working all night on June 30 to ensure complete technical infrastructure, promptly handle any incidents that may occur, and ensure that the information system serving the two-level government is smooth and effective on the first day of operation.

In Ho Chi Minh City, engineers from the Telecommunications Center and the Information Operations Center work silently and tirelessly. They set up online video bridges at the bridge points, pull cables, install transmission lines at new commune/ward headquarters – ensuring the highest quality in a short time. Every action they take is aimed at one thing: the announcement ceremony must be complete, the connection must be seamless…

Not far away, in Dong Nai, from 5am on July 1, all VNPT technicians simultaneously deployed to 40 communes and wards in the area, directly supporting at the Public Administration Centers. The unit's leaders were also present at the scene, encouraging the spirit of the technicians, directly inspecting and directing the handling of arising situations, ensuring the system operates stably, safely and smoothly.

Across the country, VNPT officers and engineers are still “on duty” at the headquarters of the People’s Committees of communes/wards, ensuring that each commune has at least 02 VNPT technical personnel to support each operation of local officials. None of them appear in major newspapers, but each of their operations contributes to creating a miracle – a digital government operating synchronously at the same time nationwide.

Open to a new era

0:00 on July 1st – when the clock chimes, the new government model officially operates. A new day begins, the country is strongly transforming into a new era of the nation, with the spearhead being comprehensive digital transformation.

And, behind the initial success of digital government are the sleepless nights of VNPT people. From the late night lights, the hasty meals at the scene, to each mouse click to check the final information, all are aimed at one thing: When the country changes, the system must not be interrupted for even a second.
