The 2025-2026 school year entrance exam for specialized grade 10 in Hanoi has more than 13,000 candidates participating in 20 examination councils.
Previously, from June 6 to 8, candidates completed the exam procedures and completed the general exams. On June 9, candidates registered for the specialized school exam took an additional exam in the specialized subject corresponding to the specialized class they registered for.
In the 2025-2026 school year, Hanoi has 4 high schools specializing in recruiting students for specialized 10th grade, including Hanoi - Amsterdam Specialized School, Chu Van An Specialized School, Nguyen Hue Specialized School and Son Tay Specialized School.

To be eligible for admission to the specialized grade 10 according to their registered wishes, candidates must take all 3 general entrance exams for public grade 10, including math, literature, and foreign language; then, take an additional specialized subject exam.
In the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year, Hanoi has more than 115,000 candidates registered to take the exam, including more than 102,000 candidates taking the non-specialized public exam and more than 13,000 candidates taking the specialized school entrance exam.
According to regulations of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, each candidate can register to take the entrance exam to specialized 10th grade classes of 2 out of the 4 specialized schools mentioned above.
Candidates can apply for the same specialized class of 2 specialized schools, but must arrange their admission preferences in order. In addition, candidates can also apply for different specialized classes of 2 specialized schools, provided that the exam times for specialized subjects do not overlap.
