Speeding up the implementation of marine protected areas in Quang Ninh

According to the National Biodiversity Conservation Plan for the period 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister in Decision 1352/QD-TTg dated November 8, 2024, Quang Ninh has 3 marine protected areas including: Co To - Tran Island Marine Protected Area, Ha Long Bay Marine Protected Area, Bai Tu Long Bay Marine Protected Area. Up to now, the Co To - Tran Island Marine Protected Area has been voted and unanimously approved by the Provincial People's Committee for the establishment project and the detailed planning of the Co To - Tran Island Marine Protected Area has been approved. The Bai Tu Long Bay Management Board has also submitted a report on the approval of the Outline and budget for the task of "Investigation, assessment, proposal to expand the area of ​​the marine component and request competent authorities to recognize Bai Tu Long as a national marine protected area". The Ha Long Bay Marine Protected Area has not yet been implemented.
