Invest 40 billion VND to build a mechatronics laboratory for Da Nang students

Danang University of Technology inaugurated the national key laboratory 'Mechatronics and Applications' with an investment capital of more than 40 billion VND, marking a new step forward in high-tech research and training.

On July 5, on the occasion of its 50th anniversary (1975 - 2025), the University of Science and Technology - University of Danang inaugurated the national key laboratory for sharing "Mechatronics and Applications" with a total investment of more than 40 billion VND from the key laboratory development program phase 2 approved by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Associate ProfessorDr. Nguyen Huu Hieu, Principal of the school, said that the laboratory is part of the strategy to build an international standard research and training infrastructure, serving the development of the mechatronics field, a key technology industry in the era of Industry 4.0.

"Putting into operation this modern laboratory will create a foundation for research, training and technology transfer activities; at the same time affirm the school's unlocking role in developing high technology, serving the country's needs," Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Huu Hieu emphasized.

The inauguration ceremony is one of a series of meaningful activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Danang University of Technology.

On the same day, the University of Science and Technology - University of Danang held a ceremony to celebrate its 50th anniversary (1975 - 2025). Attending the ceremony were Mr. Ngo Dong Hai, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Mr. Ha Ban, former Deputy Head of the Central Organization Commission; Mr. Hoang Minh Son, Deputy Minister of Education and Training; Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Chairman of the People's Committee of the new Da Nang City (including Da Nang City and the old Quang Nam province); nearly 1,000 delegates from universities, domestic and foreign enterprises, alumni and staff, tutors and students of the school.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son acknowledged the outstanding achievements of the University of Science and Technology - University of Danang over the past 50 years; highly appreciated the role of the school in training high-quality human resources, scientific research and technology transfer.

The Deputy Minister of Education and Training suggested that the school continue to innovate its training programs, promote digital transformation in university education, expand international cooperation, and develop key industries such as information technology, artificial intelligence, and semiconductor industry - areas where the country is in particular need of elite human resources.

University of Science and Technology - University of Danang commends and rewards outstanding individuals and groups on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the school's founding.

Starting with only 4 first teachers and a few hundred students in the white sand of Da Nang after the country's reunification, up to now, the University of Technology - University of Da Nang has developed into one of the leading technical training institutions in the country.

The university has 14 faculties, 11 research centers, a training scale of more than 16,000 students, with a strong teaching staff of 446 people, of which over 70% are PhDs - the highest rate among technical universities in Vietnam.

The school is also gradually affirming its position in the international innovation and integration ecosystem. On average, each year, the school organizes 5 international conferences and signs 5 cooperation documents with the world's leading schools and research institutes.
