Van Tuong Victory Museum was put into use in 2005. To date, many items have been degraded. In 2025, the Provincial People's Committee has allocated over 9.3 billion VND to upgrade and restore this national relic.
The project includes items such as: renovating the exhibition house, adjusting and rearranging the exhibition system; replacing the sound and lighting systems and renovating and upgrading other auxiliary items within the Museum's premises.
Up to now, the work volume has reached about 30%, the contractor is committed to completing the project on schedule, in time to serve the 60th Anniversary of Van Tuong Victory.
Regarding the preparation for the Ceremony, the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has coordinated with the locality and relevant units to survey the Ceremony venue, invite the event organizer to survey, measure, calculate and create a layout to decorate the overall site for the Celebration.
In early July, the Department will advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue a Decision to establish the Ceremony Organizing Committee. Announce the assignment of members to organize the Ceremony. Continue to preside over and coordinate with the Provincial People's Committee Office, relevant agencies and localities to implement the activities of the Anniversary Ceremony, according to Plan No. 243 of the Provincial People's Committee.
Permanent Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Tran Hoang Tuan emphasized that the Van Tuong victory has great historical significance, a brilliant milestone in the revolutionary spirit of attack, intelligence, bravery, and solidarity of the army and people of Quang Ngai with the main force of Military Region 5, in the resistance war against the US to save the country.
The Van Tuong Victory Anniversary is not only an occasion to pay tribute to the heroic past, but also an opportunity to foster patriotism and revolutionary tradition for today's generation.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over and coordinate with relevant units and localities to develop a truly meaningful program and content for the anniversary ceremony, in accordance with its historical nature. The organization must ensure that the event takes place solemnly and economically, but still ensures sufficient scale and quality.
Review the list of delegates attending the Ceremony, avoid mistakes and have a thoughtful reception plan. Advise the Provincial People's Committee on plans to organize delegations to visit individuals, families of war invalids, martyrs, and families who contributed to the Van Tuong victory.
Promote propaganda, hang banners and slogans about the event along main roads and event venues. Ensure conditions for a solemn and meaningful celebration.
According to historical documents, on August 18, 1965, Regiment 1 of the Liberation Corps of Zone V, together with Company 21 of local troops and militia in the eastern region of Binh Son district, heroically defeated the first major sweep of more than 8,000 US marines... The victory at Van Tuong is a vivid demonstration of the invincible strength of the people's war against invaders.
Van Tuong Victory Relic was recognized as a National Relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in Decision No. 147/QD-BVHTT dated December 24, 1982.
