Ho Chi Minh City University of Science converts IELTS and TOEFL certificates for the first time

(Dan Tri) - For the first time, the University of Natural Sciences applies the conversion of TOEFL iBT and IELTS foreign language certificates to the method of using the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam.

This is a new point in the 2025 regular university enrollment information just announced by the Admissions Council of the University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City National University.

This year, the school plans to enroll 4,455 students for 31 majors/groups of majors in standard programs, English-enhanced programs and advanced programs.

Regarding the conversion of TOEFL iBT and IELTS foreign language certificates for the method of using the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam, the school stipulates that if the converted score of the English certificate is higher than the 2025 high school graduation exam score in English, the converted score will be used to replace the candidate's English score.

In addition, the school also announced the conversion rules for equivalent input thresholds and admission scores between admission method combinations.

Accordingly, the rule for converting equivalent scores from transcripts to 2025 high school scores is implemented according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training and Ho Chi Minh City National University.

For admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2025, based on the exam results, the School's Admissions Council will decide and announce.

The threshold to ensure input quality if using the competency assessment test method is not lower than 600 points.

The input quality assurance threshold of the remaining methods will be based on the quality assurance threshold of the method using the 2025 high school exam results for equivalent conversion.

Estimated tuition fees for the first year range from 28.4-67 million VND/year, depending on the major and training program.

In which, computer science, the advanced program has the highest tuition fee. Tuition fee is increased every year.

Candidates admitted to the school will be considered for full scholarships (first year and with conditions to maintain in each following semester) for candidates with excellent achievements in science and technology competitions, Olympic exams, excellent student exams in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and informatics (first prize at national level, gold, silver, and bronze medals at international level) and candidates with the highest scores (excluding priority points) in the admission exam.

Scholarships of 50-100% of first-year tuition fees are available to high-achieving candidates in majors serving sustainable development goals and national strategies (including majors in geology, oceanography , general environmental science, environmental engineering technology, geological engineering, nuclear engineering) and many other types of scholarships for new students.
