Online conference on implementing health work when implementing the 2-level local government model

On June 20, the Department of Health held an online conference with medical centers across the province to deploy medical work in the province when implementing the 2-level local government model.

Accordingly, based on the Government's Decrees and current Laws, the Department of Health focuses on providing information and guidance on contents related to decentralization, delegation of authority and implementation of tasks in the fields of medical examination and treatment; preventive medicine; food safety; pharmaceuticals; finance; social protection; prevention and control of social evils; population and children. After the arrangement, Quang Ninh will have 60 health stations from 171, including 60 main stations and 106 station points, and 5 stations will be suspended. For health centers, the current number of health centers will be kept unchanged, and the names will be adjusted to suit the 2-level local government organization model. Health stations in communes, wards and special zones after the arrangement will continue to be under the health center. Priority will be given to arranging sufficient human resources according to regulations at main stations, ensuring that each main station and station point has at least 1 doctor working.

To improve medical activities, the health sector also determined to continuously improve the quality of human resources, invest in infrastructure, focus on applying IT in medical examination and treatment, health management, and social protection work. The Department of Health will establish a team to guide medical work, connect and inform medical staff in commune, ward, and special zone authorities, ensuring that there is no interruption in people's health care and social protection work.
