People struggle in the summer sun
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, since the end of June, temperatures in Da Nang have consistently remained high. From 10am, temperatures have exceeded 31-33 degrees Celsius, sometimes reaching 35 degrees Celsius and lasting until late afternoon. The time frame from 11am to 2pm is considered the “peak” of hot weather, making many people afraid to go out.

On the streets, people cover their entire bodies with sun-protective jackets, masks, sunglasses... to limit the direct impact of the heat. Long-sleeved sun-protective clothing has become an "inseparable item" not only for women but also for men, to limit the direct impact of sunlight.

Nguyen Tran Khanh Nhi, a 12th grade student at Nguyen Khuyen Secondary and High School, shared: "Every time I stop at a red light at noon, I just want to go home immediately. It's hot and dusty, it feels very uncomfortable."

In particular, this harsh weather makes life even more difficult for outdoor workers. During lunch breaks, many workers take advantage of the opportunity to lie down under trees or under bridges to avoid the sun and regain their strength after hours of "exposure" at the construction site.
Mr. Nguyen Van Manh (born in 1965, residing in Son Tra ward), a construction worker, said: "The hot weather has a great impact on health. Before, I could work six days a week, but now the weather is harsh, so I can only work three days at best."

Da Nang beach becomes a "cooling" destination
In the hot weather, beaches such as My Khe, Pham Van Dong, Man Thai ... become ideal places for relaxation for locals and tourists. From 3:30 pm every day, especially on weekends, the flow of people to the beach is increasing. At its peak from 5 pm to 7 pm, My Khe beach is packed with people swimming, playing sports , and enjoying the cool breeze. The parking lots along the coast are often full every afternoon.

Ms. Thao Bong, a tourist from Hanoi, shared: “Although the sun is quite harsh during the day, the air is more pleasant in the late afternoon. Da Nang beach is clean and beautiful, the feeling of swimming here is very enjoyable.”

Recreational services such as jet skiing, parasailing, beach volleyball, etc. attract a large number of young tourists. However, the hot midday sun causes many people to limit going out, only choosing to go to the beach in the late afternoon.

Mr. Le Huu Huy, Deputy Head of the Rescue Team (Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches) said that during the peak summer season, the number of people swimming in the sea increases sharply. The rescue team must be on duty 100% of the time to ensure safety. In addition to supervision, the rescue team constantly reminds people to swim in the right areas, especially children need to wear life jackets and be accompanied by adults.
