Selected investor for aircraft maintenance project at Long Thanh airport

(NLDO) - Two more projects belonging to the 4 components of Long Thanh airport have just had their investor selection results approved.

The Ministry of Transport has just approved the results of selecting investors for the Aviation Equipment Maintenance and Repair Service Project and Ground Commercial Technical Services No. 2, part of Component 4 at Long Thanh International Airport.

According to the approval decision of the Ministry of Transport on December 7, the winning investor is a consortium of Saigon Ground Services Joint Stock Company and Hanoi Ground Services Joint Stock Company.

These are two investors with experience in the field of maintenance and repair of aviation equipment and ground technical services at Vietnam's airports.

On the same day, the Ministry of Transport approved the results of selecting investors for the Project to invest in construction and business of aircraft maintenance services under Component Project 4 at Long Thanh airport.

According to the approval decision of the Ministry of Transport, the winning investor is Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (VAECO). This is an investor with experience in the field of aircraft maintenance in Vietnam.

The Ministry of Transport assigns the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam as the inviting party to sign and manage the contract based on the results approved by the Ministry of Transport in the above decisions to organize and implement the next steps.

The Civil Aviation Authority said that immediately after the approval decision of the Ministry of Transport, the Authority quickly and actively organized negotiations and signed project contracts with investors to shorten the progress as much as possible, put the project into operation soon, and ensure quality and progress in accordance with the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister .

On December 6, 2024, the Ministry of Transport also approved the results of selecting investors for the Project to invest in construction and business of aviation catering services No. 2 under Component Project 4, which is Vietnam Aviation Catering Services Joint Stock Company.

Previously, chairing the afternoon meeting on December 2 of the Working Group of the Long Thanh International Airport Construction Investment Project Phase 1 on the implementation status of component project 4 (ground service works), traffic connection to Long Thanh airport, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized that the delay in implementing component project 4, while other component projects are achieving and exceeding progress, will greatly affect the exploitation plan of Long Thanh airport, with the risk of causing great waste.

The Ministry of Transport is responsible for the progress of component project 4, and must make efforts and resolutely implement all solutions to complete the works and items of component project 4 in sync with other component projects to put Long Thanh airport into operation on schedule.

The Ministry of Transport must review all bidding documents for works and items in component project 4; clearly identify the items that the Ministry will implement and the projects assigned to enterprises with sufficient capacity and resources to implement, along with a specific progress commitment submitted to the Prime Minister.
