Robot cooks steak from 1,800 km away
The Dobot Atom robot, the first humanoid product from Chinese company Shenzhen Dobot, cooks a complete steak – including turning the meat and sprinkling salt – when controlled from a distance of 1,800 km.
The operator uses virtual reality (VR) glasses from Guangdong province, while the robot performs the operation in Shandong province.
The operator can feel and control the robot as if they were physically working with it, thanks to haptic feedback technology and real-time visuals. The robot is capable of performing delicate tasks such as sprinkling salt with the fingers – something that normally requires human dexterity.

This application could extend to many fields such as robots replace humans in dangerous or understaffed environments. Or they could be particularly useful in medicine , paving the way for surgeries to be performed by doctors elsewhere, which is especially useful in remote areas.
In addition, robots can work in toxic or inaccessible environments, helping humans avoid risks.
Nvidia builds super technology park in Israel
The world's leading technology corporation Nvidia has just announced a major expansion plan in Israel through the construction of a multi-billion dollar technology campus in the north of the country. This is considered a strategic step to strengthen Nvidia's position in the global artificial intelligence (AI) field.
According to the official announcement, Nvidia is looking for a site of 70 to 120 dunams (30 acres) in the Zichron Yaakov, Haifa, and Jezreel Valley areas. The campus is expected to have a built-up area of 80,000 to 180,000 square meters, with high requirements for transportation accessibility and public infrastructure.

The group has hired real estate consultancy Colliers to assist in finding a suitable site, with a deadline for being proposals July 23.
“ This is a very significant investment and a clear sign of Nvidia's confidence in the Israeli high-tech ecosystem,” said Dror Bin, CEO of the Israel Innovation Authority. “This investment will not only benefit Nvidia, but will also boost Israel's position in innovation and technology, especially AI.”
Nvidia has a strong presence in Israel through R&D centers and acquisitions such as Mellanox Technologies. This expansion is expected to create thousands of jobs and strengthen Israel's role as a strategic technology hub in Nvidia's global network.
Meta launches standalone AI application, integrates social network
In an effort to make its mark amid the wave of artificial intelligence (AI) development, Meta Platforms officially launched a standalone AI application, integrating social networking elements, to compete directly with OpenAI's ChatGPT.
The new app – called Meta AI – is built on the company's Llama 4 language model. The highlight of the app is its “Discover feed” feature, which lets users explore how others are interacting with AI, similar to a Facebook feed but focused on AI use cases. The app also supports a voice mode, allowing users to chat with AI using their voice.

Unlike many of its competitors, Meta continues to maintain an open-source and free strategy for its AI products. According to the company, more than a billion people use Meta's AI products every month.
At Meta's first AI developer conference – LlamaCon 2025 – CEO Mark Zuckerberg spoke with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella about the pace of AI development and the impact of the technology on business and society. Both emphasize that AI has the potential to create a quantum leap in productivity, but achieving that requires a change in the way software is managed and operated.
