After the opening whistle, the home team Pathum Utd quickly rushed to attack, creating great pressure and having a dangerous opportunity in the 5th minute when Takaki Ose finished in the penalty area but sent the ball over the bar.

Not to be outdone, Hanoi Police quickly responded. In the 11th minute, Quang Hai made a difficult cross, but Leo Artur could not finish close to the goal. Exactly one minute later, Alan skillfully handled the ball past a series of opposing defenders, but his shot was still blocked by goalkeeper Slavisa.

After a series of missed opportunities, the turning point came in the 21st minute when Leo Artur made a delicate pass for Alan to run down and score the opening goal for Hanoi Police.

Continuing the momentum, the away team continued to maintain the attacking rhythm. In the 24th minute, the duo Leo Artur and Alan coordinated well but Slavisa still managed to block. In the 31st minute, Alan crossed the ball conveniently for Le Van Do, but unfortunately the shot in a face-to-face situation hit the opposing goalkeeper.

The final minutes of the half saw the drama intensify. In the 36th minute, Joel Lopez shot past Nguyen Filip but the goal was disallowed due to an offside. Seven minutes later, Pathum Utd were at a disadvantage when Matheus received a straight red card for a high kick against Bui Hoang Viet Anh.

In the second half, coach Supachai Komsilp sent on the brightest star Chanathip Songkrasin. It didn't take long for the 31-year-old player to leave his mark.

In the 58th minute, from a lightning counter-attack, Chanathip demonstrated his skillful dribbling ability before unleashing a decisive shot into the near corner. Nguyen Filip, despite touching the ball, could not stop it and conceded a goal.

Not satisfied with the draw, the stars of Hanoi Police rushed forward to attack in search of a second goal. Leo Artur was the one who had the most dangerous chances with his feet and in the air, but the home team's defense played with concentration.

Meanwhile, other stars of the Police team also created many dangerous attacks, but all stopped at the opportunity level.

It seemed that they would accept a draw on the opponent's field, but the Vietnamese representative unexpectedly received a bitter defeat. In the last minute of extra time, after a poor clearance by Nguyen Filip, Chanathip received the ball from midfield before unleashing a shot straight into the away team's goal, thereby helping Pathum Utd take the lead and win 2-1.

The remaining few minutes were not enough to help coach Mano Polking's team find an equalizer. In the end, Hanoi Police suffered a bitter 1-2 defeat against Pathum Utd, despite having one more player for most of the match.
