Hanoi police change hours, roads are closed to serve the second parade rehearsal

The second rehearsal for the parade on the occasion of National Day, September 2nd, was held on August 24th. To ensure security and safety, Hanoi Police adjusted the traffic flow schedule.

According to the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police, on August 24, the city held the second comprehensive training program for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2. To ensure order and traffic safety, the unit has adjusted the time and area of ​​road bans.

Time for organizing traffic flow to serve the second comprehensive training program in the city: From 12:30 on August 24 to 2:00 on August 25 (4 hours and 30 minutes earlier than previously announced).

The routes are strictly prohibited for all vehicles :

For routes: Hoang Hoa Tham, Thuy Khue (from Hung Vuong to Van Cao), Mai Xuan Thuong, Quan Thanh, Phan Dinh Phung, Hung Vuong, Hoang Van Thu, Doc Lap, Chua Mot Cot, Bac Son, Ton That Dam, Nguyen Canh Chan, Hoang Dieu, Cua Bac and Yen Phu street.

Intermittently prohibited routes according to time frame:

The following routes: Yen Phu, Thanh Nien, Dien Bien Phu, Ba Huyen Thanh Quan, Le Hong Phong, Ong Ich Khiem, Ngoc Ha, Nguyen Tri Phuong, Chu Van An, Ton Duc Thang, Cat Linh, Trinh Hoai Duc, Hang Chao, Tran Phu, Son Tay, Kim Ma, Lieu Giai, Van Cao, Nghi Tam, Doi Can, Doc La-Pho, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Le Duan, Tran Nhan Tong (from Le Duan to Quang Trung), Trang Thi, Hang Khay, Trang Tien, Co Tan, Phan Chu Trinh (from Hai Ba Trung to Trang Tien); Le Thanh Tong, Tong Dan (from Ly Dao Thanh to Trang Tien), Tran Quang Khai, Tran Khanh Du, Quang Trung (from Ly Thuong Kiet to Trang Thi), Ly Thai To, Nguyen Huu Huan, Ngo Quyen (from State Bank Square to Trang Tien), Giang Vo, Lang Ha, Lang (from Lang Ha to Tran Duy Hung) are banned from 12:30 to 16:30 on August 24. These routes are also completely banned from 4:30 p.m. on August 24 to 2 a.m. on August 25.

Routes temporarily banned by vehicle type:

Roads inside Ring Road I: Temporarily banned for all types of vehicles (except vehicles with security badges, vehicles serving celebrations, vehicles with priority, vehicles performing official duties, buses, garbage collection vehicles, vehicles handling and troubleshooting).

Routes in the area from Ring Road I to Ring Road II: Temporarily banned for trucks with a total designed weight of 1.5 tons or more, and passenger cars with 16 seats or more.

The city police recommend that traffic participants limit traffic on the following routes: Routes in the area from Ring Road II to Ring Road III, restrict traffic for passenger transport vehicles with less than 16 seats, private cars, and motorbikes.

Routes in the area from Ring Road I to Ring Road II are restricted to vehicles.

Hanoi offers free trains and buses on National Day September 2

On the morning of August 23, the Hanoi People's Committee decided to exempt all tickets for people using the tram and bus for 4 days, from August 30 to September 2, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day. This policy aims to create favorable conditions for people to visit historical sites, participate in celebration activities, and at the same time contribute to reducing traffic congestion and environmental pollution.

Accordingly, the two urban railway lines Cat Linh - Ha Dong, Nhon - Cau Giay and 128 subsidized bus routes will be free of charge for all one-way tickets. Passengers will still be issued tickets at the face value of the route but will not have to pay.

Hanoi Metro also announced that it will extend train operating hours during peak days:

- August 21, 24, 27, 29: from 5:30 am to 12:00 pm

- August 30: from 5am to 10pm

- September 1: from 5:30 to 24:00

- September 2: run continuously from 0:00 to 22:00, 6 minutes/trip during rush hour, 10 minutes/trip during normal hours (80 minutes of suspension for technical maintenance)

- Some bus routes through the center, including 09A from Bo Ho to Nguyen Hoang Ton, 22A from Gia Lam to Kim Ma, E09 from Smart City to West Lake, route 32 from Giap Bat to Nhon, and BRT route Yen Nghia - Kim Ma.

For personal vehicles, the city assigns communes and wards to arrange agency headquarters, educational facilities, and stadiums as parking lots.

The Department of Construction was assigned to coordinate the organization and implementation of traffic diversion plans, arrange parking lots and disseminate information to the public. According to the plan, the rehearsals, preliminary rehearsals and final rehearsals of the celebration will take place on August 21, 24, 27 and 30. The official ceremony will be held at 6:30 a.m. on September 2 in Hanoi, including a large-scale parade and march.

In addition, the city also provides drinking water, dry food, instant cakes and free buses to transport people – especially the elderly from other localities – to Hanoi to attend the ceremony. On the streets where the parade passes, priority will be given to veterans, the elderly, women and children.
