At the end of the trading session on July 17, VN-Index increased by 14.54 points, equivalent to 0.99%, surpassing the 1,490-point mark. VN30-Index also increased by more than 20 points; HNX-Index increased by 3.74 points; UPCoM-Index increased by 1.22 points.
VHM (Vinhomes) led the group of stocks that positively affected the index. In addition, two stocks of the Vingroup family, VIC (Vingroup) and VRE (Vincom Retail), were also present in this group.
The impressive rise in stocks has helped push billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's assets to a record high. According to Forbes, as of the afternoon of July 17, his assets had increased by 920 million USD, reaching a record high of 12.7 billion USD, thereby rising to the 205th position in the list of the world's richest people.

Notably, VIC shares are currently trading around VND122,000/unit, up more than 3 times compared to the beginning of the year and approaching a historical peak.
The strong increase in this stock has also helped Vingroup Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong's assets increase rapidly in recent times. With 449.9 million VIC shares held directly (equivalent to 11.6% of charter capital), the value of billionaire Vuong's private shares in Vingroup has now exceeded VND54,800 billion.
In the whole market, the total value of matched transactions reached more than 34,000 billion VND. The board was filled with green with 205 codes increasing in price, of which 11 codes hit the ceiling; 61 codes stood at the reference; 112 codes decreased in price with 1 code hitting the floor.
Foreign investors turned to net selling today. VCB was the stock that foreign investors sold the most with a value of more than 200 billion VND, followed by HCM, CII, VCG, VIX, GMD... On the contrary, foreign investors net bought stocks such as NVL, HPG, MSN, SSI, HDB...
