On August 30, Quang Ninh Club officially announced 3 new players Mac Hong Quan, Nghiem Xuan Tu and Vu Minh Tuan. Previously, Xuan Tu had intended to retire. However, in response to the sincere offer from Quang Ninh Club, the midfielder born in 1988 agreed.
Mac Hong Quan was born in 1992, plays as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder and striker. He was once a star of the U23 Vietnam team during Toshiya Miura's time.
Nghiem Xuan Tu plays as a winger, has a specialty in creating crosses and assists that is rare in the V-League.
Vu Minh Tuan also plays as a central midfielder and is the hero of the Vietnamese team at the AFF Cup 2016 under coach Nguyen Huu Thang. The class of this trio has been recognized after many seasons of playing at the top level in Vietnam's number 1 professional playground.
Along with Vu Minh Tuan, Mac Hong Quan and Nghiem Xuan Tu are all names of the mining team during their time with Than Quang Ninh from 2015 to 2021. The peak of their careers was in the 2016 season with the double championship of the National Cup and National Super Cup.
Since 2017, Than Quang Ninh has always been a force in the V-League, often chasing Hanoi Club at the top of the rankings.
When Than Quang Ninh dissolved, Hong Quan and Xuan Tu joined Binh Dinh and also helped the team win the 2023 - 2024 V-League runner-up. Minh Tuan went to Thanh Hoa, The Cong - Viettel , Hanoi and Binh Dinh, winning 1 V-League championship with the army team.
The experience of all 3 players, along with the club's 2 key players Dao Nhat Minh and Bui Van Hieu, promises to strengthen Quang Ninh on the way back to V-League.
Quang Ninh Club was re-established in 2024. They have successfully won promotion twice, from the third division to the second division and then the first division in just 1 year.
Under the leadership of coach Nguyen Van Dan, Quang Ninh plays confidently, focusing on efficiency in playing style, promising to bring challenges to other big names of the First Division this season such as Bac Ninh or Truong Tuoi Dong Nai.
