Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club replaces training ground after more than 20 years

Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club has decided to replace the entire training ground of Ham Rong Training Center after more than 20 years of use.

On the morning of June 18, Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club started the first upgrade project: replacing the first team's training ground at Ham Rong Training Center.

Accordingly, the entire ginger grass surface after more than 20 years of use will be replaced with coniferous grass (Bermuda) according to international standards.

One day after the 2024 - 2025 V-League ends on June 22 with the match against Quang Nam , Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club will also change the Pleiku stadium's grass from ginger grass to coniferous grass after 15 years of use.

This is one of the first and important items of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club to improve the quality of training in preparation for the new season, and at the same time have a more suitable playing field for the team's playing style.

Explaining the reason for changing the pitch surface from ginger grass to coniferous grass, the club's CEO Nguyen Tan Anh shared: "Ginger grass is very durable. However, the quality of the team's coordination will not be as good as when it takes place on coniferous grass.

Therefore, we decided to switch to coniferous grass so that the speed of the ball and the team's small passing and passing will be better. Moreover, the general trend of football is to use coniferous grass. With Pleiku field, we have to do it as soon as the V-League 2024 - 2025 ends in time for the opening match of the new season 2025 - 2026 on August 15."

In addition to upgrading the training ground and stadium, Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club also upgraded many other facilities at its youth training academy to meet the 3-star standards of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Technical Director of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club and Director of the Academy Vu Tien Thanh said: "This is the stage where we upgrade the academy's facilities so that we can register with AFC to have the academy meet three-star standards.

In addition to converting the ginger grass field to coniferous, we also upgraded other artificial turf fields, upgraded the gym for small teams, built a large entertainment room...".
