CAHN Club has a dream start
When the performance in V-League is not up to standard, the National Cup becomes the season's savior for both Hanoi Police Club (CAHN Club) and The Cong Viettel this season.
Both teams have quality national players, good youth, and are on par with each other as each team has won one match (with the same score of 2-1) in the V-League this season. The desire to win the National Cup makes the semi-final match taking place at 7:15 p.m. on June 26 at Hang Day Stadium even more unpredictable.
However, unlike previous matches, CAHN Club did not rush to attack, but kept a steady rhythm to avoid counterattacks from Viettel's The Cong.

In the 13th minute, The Cong Viettel's net shook. From a corner kick on the right wing, center-back Hugo Gomes escaped the marking of The Cong Viettel defenders to head the ball with lightning speed to open the score of the match.
The goal helped CAHN Club attack more diversely and smoothly. In the 18th minute, after a mistake of losing the ball in the home field of The Cong Viettel, Alan Grafite took the ball and passed it beautifully for Quang Hai to make a precise shot into the far corner, raising the score to 2-0. Goalkeeper Van Phong was a bit high and could not save the dangerous shot.
At this moment, The Cong Viettel woke up. Coach Velizar Popov's students rose up to take control of the game, while CAHN Club proactively retreated. In the 37th minute, Huu Thang made a smart run and then made a tricky right-footed shot, fooling goalkeeper Nguyen Filip, and equalizing 1-2 for The Cong Viettel.
However, CAHN Club regained the 2-goal lead before the break. In the 40th minute, Alan Grafite defeated the defender of The Cong Viettel and then shot beautifully with his right foot to increase the score to 3-1.
Final ticket
The huge advantage helped CAHN Club play leisurely in the second half, but still controlled the tempo. Coach Popov's Viettel The Cong tried to rush forward, however, the natural crosses from the right wing of Tien Anh and the left wing of Van Khang could not trouble the disciplined defense of CAHN Club.

Since the unfortunate loss to Buriram in the Southeast Asian C1 final, CAHN Club has controlled the game and defended more carefully and tightly.
The former 2023 champion has preserved his achievements. Even if Alan had taken advantage of his chances, CAHN Club would have won by a bigger margin.
Defeating The Cong Viettel, CAHN Club entered the National Cup final for the first time in history. Coach Alexandre Polking and his team's opponent is SLNA, the team that eliminated Binh Duong in the semi-finals with a score of 3-2.
