The event was organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh in coordination with the Vietnam Bicycle - Motor Sports Federation.
According to the Organizing Committee, this year's National Cycling Festival attracted 1,100 amateur cyclists from 147 domestic cycling clubs and 4 foreign cycling clubs including: Laos, Cambodia, China, Thailand. This is also an opportunity for Binh Dinh to introduce to friends from all over the world a land rich in identity, beautiful in both nature and people.
Athletes will participate in cycling parades with distances of 3.5km, 32km; husband and wife racing; Road and MTB racing.
Before arriving in Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh), the athletes cycled through different distances including: Ho Chi Minh City - Quy Nhon 650km, Hanoi - Quy Nhon 1,100km, Da Lat - Quy Nhon 350km, Buon Me Thuot - Quy Nhon 1,100km, Dong Ha - Quy Nhon 520km.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Do Thi Dieu Hanh said that through many events, the National Cycling Festival has become a healthy and meaningful sports playground, a place to connect the community of cycling lovers from all over the country and international friends.
Not only a sports activity, the festival is also a vivid symbol of solidarity, of the connection between people, between people and nature and with the core human values of Vietnamese families.
Director of the Department Do Thi Dieu Hanh shared that Vietnamese Family Day (June 28) is an opportunity for each of us to look back and appreciate more the lasting values that family brings - where love is nurtured, where personality is formed and also where meaningful journeys in life begin.
Organizing a festival on this occasion not only creates a space for fun and exercise for all ages but also contributes to spreading the message of positive living, improving health, and enhancing the spirit of solidarity between family members and the community.
In the presence of more than 1,000 athletes from many provinces and cities in the country and other countries, the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh expressed that Binh Dinh people are gentle, sincere and hospitable. We are always ready to open our hearts to welcome friends from everywhere to come and share, explore and love this land more.
“Through today’s festival, we hope to convey the message: Binh Dinh is not only a land of martial arts, but also a “green destination” for sports tourism, a place where health, culture and spirit converge,” said Ms. Hanh, believing that each turn of the wheel today is not only a step forward in physical fitness, but also a circle of connection – connecting the past and the present, between individuals and the community, between people with the ideal of healthy living, sharing and sustainable development.
That spirit is the core that the culture, sports and tourism industry always aims for, taking culture as the foundation, sports as the driving force, and tourism as the bridge between people and the beauty of the country.
In addition, Director of the Department Do Thi Dieu Hanh also emphasized that the success of today's festival has great contributions from the organizing units, volunteers, sponsoring units, especially from the enthusiasm and love of athletes, families and cycling communities across the country as well as the international cycling community.
Beautiful images of couples riding bicycles together, groups, whether familiar or unfamiliar, will all smile brightly in the sunshine and wind of friendship.
That is the vitality of the festival, where sports touch people's hearts, where the movement becomes the glue that binds the community.
