On the evening of June 29, in Yen Bai city, an art program took place to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee (June 30, 1945 - June 30, 2025) and to welcome the establishment of the new Lao Cai province.

According to Tuoi Tre Online , in Yen Bai city, although it rained right before the art program took place, thousands of people still did not mind the weather and flocked to 19-8 Square to witness one of the events considered "historic".

Under umbrellas and raincoats, many families, young people, and students still crowded 19-8 Square to watch the art program that lasted nearly two hours.

Among them, a group of ninth graders from Yen Thinh Secondary School (Yen Bai City) stood out. Many of them wore bright red shirts with yellow stars printed on them, expressing their patriotism and national pride.

"This is a historic event for our hometown, when the two provinces of Yen Bai and Lao Cai officially merged and became one. Therefore, we want to be there to witness and feel this important atmosphere" - an excited male student said.

Speaking at the art program, Yen Bai Provincial Party Secretary Tran Huy Tuan emphasized that looking back on the glorious 80-year journey, he was even more proud of his homeland Yen Bai - not only an administrative name, but also a symbol of strong will, solidarity and aspiration to rise up.

"The two beloved words 'Yen Bai' have nurtured the love for the homeland, fostered the steadfast faith and sense of responsibility of every Yen Bai citizen. The Party Committee, government and people of Yen Bai always remember and deeply appreciate the contributions of previous generations - those who bravely fought for national independence and for the happiness of the people," said Mr. Tuan.

According to Mr. Tuan, in line with the exciting atmosphere of the whole country, the Party Committees of Yen Bai and Lao Cai provinces are working together, urgently, resolutely and responsibly to prepare for an event of special historical significance, which is the establishment of the new Lao Cai province.

This is not only an adjustment in administrative organization, but also a strategic step forward, expanding development space, creating more favorable conditions and stronger motivation.

Mr. Tuan believes that the entire political system, all levels, sectors, localities, cadres, party members, armed forces soldiers, civil servants, public employees, workers, business community and people of all ethnic groups in the province will continue to promote the spirit of patriotism and self-reliance.

At the same time, we must unite, act strongly, make breakthroughs in thinking, be creative in doing things, and together create new motivation and values to bring the new Lao Cai province to progress quickly and steadily on the path of integration.

Also tonight, in Lao Cai city, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee organized a special art program with the theme "Reaching the dream together" to celebrate the establishment of the new Lao Cai province.
