In the reading comprehension section (I, 4 points) of the 2025 high school graduation exam, questions 1 and 2 should have only one scoring option, which is to answer correctly to get points. Because these are questions about recognizing literary knowledge and are quite easy. However, in question 1 (the answer is: the narrator in the text is the third person), if the candidate answers extra, for example: "the narrator in the text is the third person of (or ,) authored by Nguyen Minh Chau", then no points should be deducted.
Question 3 of reading comprehension requires analyzing the effect of the rhetorical device of comparison (this question is worth 0.75 or 1 point). The answer should require candidates to indicate where the comparison is (between what and what, worth 0.25 points). The remaining points are for effect, and only need to state 2 ideas (one idea about the effect of content, one idea about the effect of form of expression).
The literature subject of the 2025 high school graduation exam is considered by public opinion to be a breakthrough, good, suitable and able to classify candidates.

Questions 4 and 5 (1 point/question) of the reading comprehension section require flexible answers, because the test-taking situations of candidates are very diverse. Question 4 (state the role of a detail in expressing the content of the story text) is a question that closely follows students' story reading skills, which have been learned a lot in high school. Accordingly, the role of a detail in the story text is the specific content/meaning of that detail (here, the close comradely affection, sharing deeply about material, spirit and fighting ideals... for the sky of the fatherland) and its role in the story (usually in the following part) to clarify the content, theme...
However, not all candidates can state the above ideas. Therefore, for this question, the answer needs to be open-ended, the candidate only needs to answer as many correct ideas as possible (should be 2 ideas). For question 5 (1 point, compare the similarities of the two texts), it is also a fairly open question. However, it is easier to be clear about the requirements than question 4. This question also needs to answer two ideas to get full points. For example: the similarity is that the places where people have lived and been attached to all become their homeland, so when they leave, their souls always linger; and both express deep attachment to all homelands/to their homeland, the Fatherland.
The writing section (6 points) classifies candidates most clearly, and the test situation will be very diverse in this section. Therefore, the scoring answer should aim to evaluate writing skills, writing literary argumentative paragraphs and writing social argumentative essays more than focusing too much on knowledge, as long as candidates clarify the focus of the requirement, that is, not going off topic.
The way to evaluate candidates' papers according to the new program focuses on writing skills. In particular, the focus is on candidates correctly identifying the argumentative issue (thesis), developing arguments; reasoning, reasoning and convincing evidence. This requires a great change in the examiner's thinking to suit the situation of the candidates' papers, bringing fairness to candidates in the 2025 high school graduation exam.
