Granting Cooperative Certificate to Dalat Horse Carriage Service

The Department of Economics, Infrastructure and Urban Areas of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat (Lam Dong) has just issued a cooperative registration certificate to the Da Lat Horse Carriage Service Cooperative.

On September 2, Mr. Le Viet Dong, a member of the Da Lat Horse Carriage Service Cooperative, said that horse carriage service businesses transporting tourists around Xuan Huong Lake were very happy to have just received a cooperative registration certificate for the Da Lat Horse Carriage Service Cooperative.

"Although we are waiting for approval from Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee to resume operations, this is a great joy for the members of the Da Lat Horse Carriage Service Cooperative," Mr. Dong added.

After Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat issued a certificate of registration for the Da Lat horse carriage service cooperative, it is hoped that Lam Dong province will allow the horse carriage service to transport tourists around Xuan Huong Lake.

As Thanh Nien reported, horse-drawn carriages around Xuan Huong Lake have been around for a long time. This activity attracts many tourists to visit and experience the romantic beauty around Xuan Huong Lake and is also a tourism product that creates a unique feature of Da Lat for tourists.

However, from February 25, 2025, the People's Committee of Da Lat City (old) issued a document assigning the Urban Management Department to coordinate with the Da Lat City Police (old) to put up signs prohibiting horse-drawn carriages from operating around Xuan Huong Lake. The reason is that this activity is not in accordance with regulations because it is not registered for business, does not list prices, does not account for revenues and expenditures, does not pay taxes to state agencies... Therefore, there is a potential risk of traffic safety when participating in traffic; the vehicle carries many people but there is no solution to warn of traffic safety; the line of people when participating in traffic affects other means of transport.

Then, following the instructions of Da Lat City, Mr. Le Viet Dong and about 10 horse-drawn carriage businesses carrying tourists moved the horse-drawn carriages to Tuyen Lam Lake Tourist Area to operate, but were also not allowed by the Management Board of this Tourist Area and asked to stop.

From mid-August 2025, the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat and the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province agreed to allow the duck pedal boat service on Xuan Huong Lake to resume serving tourists.

By mid-August 2025, the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat and the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province agreed to allow the duck pedal boat service on Xuan Huong Lake to serve tourists again, to meet the actual needs of tourists during the summer and the National Day holiday of September 2. The duck pedal boat activity to sightsee and relax on the iconic Xuan Huong Lake of Da Lat tourism has existed for more than 30 years and is loved by tourists.

Thus, after many months of the People's Committee of Da Lat City (old) banning duck pedal boats on Xuan Huong Lake and horse-drawn carriages carrying tourists around Xuan Huong Lake, now the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat is gradually "removing" them to meet the actual needs of domestic and foreign tourists when coming to Da Lat for sightseeing and relaxation.
