Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan: The province will create the most favorable conditions for Army Corps 15 to develop socio-economy.

(GLO)- During a working trip to the western localities of Gia Lai province, comrade Pham Anh Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee had a working session with Army Corps 15 on the afternoon of August 12.

Attending the meeting were comrade Nguyen Tuan Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Major General Hoang Van Sy - Commander of Army Corps 15; and representatives of leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.

At the meeting, the 15th Corps Command reported on the results of the Corps' production and business activities. Accordingly, the Corps has organized production, raising and planting of livestock and agricultural and industrial crops that are adapted to the soil and climate conditions in the area.

Over the past 40 years, Corps 15 has created jobs for many local workers with stable income; at the same time, attracted thousands of workers from the Northern provinces to work, live, settle down and develop the economy in their new homeland, forming 266 residential areas along the western border of Gia Lai and Quang Ngai provinces.

Along with the task of socio-economic development, Corps 15 also carries out many key tasks in parallel such as: building and consolidating a solid national defense along the entire border; promoting mass mobilization work in ethnic minority areas; strengthening defense diplomacy, people's diplomacy, creating a peaceful , stable and developing border environment.

After listening to the report of the 15th Army Corps and inspecting some localities where the Corps' units are located, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan affirmed that Gia Lai province will continue to create the most favorable conditions possible for the Army Corps to develop socio-economy in the defense economic zones in the province.

Along with that, the province will coordinate and assign Army Corps 15 to jointly implement national target programs in a number of localities where Army Corps units are on duty.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also hopes that the 15th Corps will continue to help the province in forming economic zones, creating more jobs, increasing income, thereby contributing to improving the quality of life for local people. The province will also allocate capital to invest in building medical and educational facilities... in border communes.

Major General Hoang Van Sy - Commander of the 15th Corps thanked comrade Pham Anh Tuan personally and the leaders of Gia Lai province for trusting, accompanying, and creating conditions for the 15th Corps to join hands in taking care of the people in the border areas to have a stable life and become increasingly prosperous and happy.
