On August 7, Mr. Le Hong Ha, head of the Gia Lai Province Market Management Department, said that he had just coordinated with functional agencies to detect and handle a truck carrying 220 pigs infected with African swine fever on the way to consumption.

Specifically, through the work of grasping the situation, on August 7, Market Management Team No. 4, Gia Lai Province Market Management Department, in coordination with An Nhon Ward Police, Gia Lai Province Region III Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station and related units searched a truck in Thuan Duc residential group, An Nhon Ward.

Upon inspection, the authorities discovered that the vehicle was carrying 220 pigs. Some of the pigs showed signs of infectious diseases such as skin hemorrhages in the abdomen, ears, etc. and high fevers above 41 degrees Celsius. A quick blood test of the pigs tested positive for African swine fever.

The driver and the owner of the pigs could not present documents proving their origin. Market Management Team No. 4 temporarily detained all the pigs and destroyed them according to regulations.

Upon verification, the owner of the above pigs, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, did not have a business registration certificate.
