According to information from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, from the beginning of 2023 to now, the units under the department have taken 1,357 samples of agricultural, forestry and fishery products to monitor residues of toxic substances at production, business and processing establishments across the province.

As a result, only 4/1,357 samples violated, accounting for 0.29%, including: 2 sausage samples analyzed for Nitrite exceeding the permissible limit prescribed in Circular 24/2019/TT-BYT dated August 30, 2019 of the Ministry of Health , 1 ham sample detected as contaminated with Salmonella microorganisms and 1 ownerless ham sample tested positive for borax through rapid testing.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Phu Quoc, through the work of sampling and monitoring food safety, it shows that the awareness of law compliance of production and business establishments is increasingly improved, preventing serious violations of food safety in the area.

In the coming time, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will continue to direct its units to arrange resources to collect samples of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in all stages from initial production, preliminary processing, processing and circulation to monitor food safety.

Integrate food safety monitoring sampling through inspection, examination, assessment and evaluation of food safety conditions, and post-inspection activities.

Monitoring activities focus on key product groups of the province and products with high risks of food safety.

Thereby, contributing to stabilizing food safety in the province, especially during the Lunar New Year.
