Chelsea continues to spend lavishly in the summer transfer window of 2025.

The 20-year-old will sign a seven-year contract with Chelsea in a deal worth around £55m. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano used the familiar phrase "Here we go" to confirm the move was complete.

Gittens joined Dortmund from Man City as a youth player in 2020, making his first-team debut in 2022, and has made 107 appearances for the German side in all competitions, scoring 17 goals. Last season was a huge success for Gittens, as he scored 12 goals in 48 games, including four in the Champions League.

Chelsea are looking to strengthen their left-back after deciding not to activate the option to buy Jadon Sancho permanently from Manchester United. Gittens is another key signing for Chelsea, following Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.

Chelsea have made their sixth signing of the summer, having previously signed Liam Delap (£35m from Ipswich Town), Estevao (£30m from Palmeiras), Dario Essugo (£20m from Sporting Lisbon), Mamadou Sarr (£11m from Strasbourg) and Joao Pedro (£60m from Brighton).

In just a short time, Chelsea continued to show its impressive financial strength by pouring more than 200 million pounds into the transfer market, maintaining the tradition of spending lavishly under owner Todd Boehly.
