Police block off road all day to check bar in HCMC

At 4:30 p.m. on January 21, hundreds of police officers were still blocking off a 100-meter stretch of Go Dau Street, Tan Phu District, to inspect the PL bar.

At both ends of the blocked road, traffic police, civil defense forces, and local police were mobilized to set up checkpoints. People without duties were not allowed to enter or exit this area.

According to Dan Tri reporters, inside the area cordoned off by police to inspect the bar, there were nearly 10 passenger vans with 16 to 30 seats parked. "The vans used to transport police and related people are under investigation," said a traffic police officer.

"At around 1am this morning, I drove through the area and saw a large number of police gathered in front of the PL bar. About 30 minutes later, the police started to block off the road until this afternoon," said Mr. Nguyen Cong (51 years old, local resident).

During the police inspection of the bar, many people from various places gathered here to watch. Among them, there were some parents who came to find information about their children who went to PL bar last night but had not returned home.

At 4:15 p.m. the same day, a blue-plate car drove up in front of the bar. The officers in the vehicle rushed straight into the bar.

A neighborhood watchman used a stick to guide vehicles into the alley to cross the blocked Go Dau street.

A source said that the inspection force at PL bar was led by the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security (C04), in coordination with Binh Duong Provincial Police, Ho Chi Minh City Police and Tan Phu District Police.
