Fraud warning related to the 100,000 VND gift policy on National Day September 2

(Chinhphu.vn) - The Government has just announced a policy of giving gifts of 100,000 VND to each citizen on the occasion of National Day, September 2. Many bad guys have taken advantage of this information to carry out sophisticated fraud.

All Government support policies are implemented publicly, transparently, and through official channels.

Accordingly, taking advantage of this information, bad guys have launched many scams to appropriate property. The police agencies of communes and wards in the localities have sent out the following warning information:

Common scams include: sending fake messages or links with the content "receive a gift of 100,000 VND", "fill in information to receive money", "install VNeID to receive gifts"; impersonating officials, police, banks to call and request OTP codes, account information or money transfers for "verification"; creating fanpages, websites impersonating authorities to collect personal data.

From the above information, the authorities note to the people: All support policies of the Government are implemented publicly and transparently, through official channels such as the People's Committee of the commune/ward, state agencies, or the banking system according to official announcements.

Do not provide account number, password, OTP code to anyone in any form.

Do not click on strange links, do not download applications of unknown origin.

When receiving suspicious messages or calls, stay calm and check with local authorities or contact the bank's hotline for support.

If you detect signs of fraud, please report it immediately to the police.
