This majestic and rare sight left many people in awe. In particular, a series of photographers and local people flocked to the coastal area with the desire to see with their own eyes the moment the whale emerged from the blue water.

Ms. Cao Diem, a photographer from Ho Chi Minh City, was present in Nhon Ly ward early in the morning to capture the special moment. Sharing her experience: “I have been to many places to take pictures of nature, but this is the first time I have witnessed a giant whale rising to the surface of the water just a few dozen meters from the boat. My heart almost stopped when the lens captured the moment it rushed up to swallow a school of anchovies in the dark blue water. It was a rare, magical moment.”

Not only photographers, but also tourism professionals see this as a golden opportunity to spread the natural beauty of the central coast. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Loi, a community tour guide in Nhon Ly ward, shared: “I have been in this profession for many years, but I have never seen tourists as excited as this time. Many people were overwhelmed when they saw whales appear offshore, then suddenly surface to hunt right before their eyes.”

Experts say the Bryde’s whale’s appearance near the shore is a positive sign that the marine ecosystem in Gia Lai is recovering well, with abundant food sources, especially schools of anchovies and sardines, the species that whales often hunt. At the same time, this is also a reminder for people to preserve and protect the marine environment, so that magical moments like this can continue to happen.
