Rain of bonuses, into the world's top 25

Defeating the Philippines 3-0 in the final match of the AVC Nations Cup 2025, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team successfully defended their championship title and won the Asian tournament for the third consecutive time. This championship also brought a ticket to the Asian Women's Volleyball Championship for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team.

In addition, 3 Vietnamese athletes were honored with individual awards at the AVC Nations Cup 2025, including: Tran Thi Thanh Thuy (best main attacker), Bich Tuyen (best opposite setter and best player of the tournament), Khanh Dang received the best libero award.

Among the above athletes, Bich Tuyen had a truly sublime tournament. The setter wearing jersey number 10 scored a total of 91 points, including 81 attack points, 7 block points and 3 Ace points. In both the semi-final and final matches, Bich Tuyen was the player with the most points.

After the emotional final match, Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team received a bonus of 350 million VND, of which the Vietnam Football Federation alone awarded 200 million VND.

Another good news for Bich Tuyen and her teammates when the Vietnamese women's volleyball team rose to 25th place in the world. This is the highest ranking in the history of Vietnamese women's volleyball.

Aiming for SEA Games gold medal

Although there are still many points to improve, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet praised the progress of his players. According to Mr. Kiet, the best thing the team has done is solidarity. Because when there is solidarity, the ability to block the ball, attack... will be better. The ability to serve the ball has also improved, but the first step and the back line defense need to improve every day.

The 1976-born coach believes that the AVC Nations Cup is just the beginning, because the big goal of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is the 2025 World Cup to compete for a historic gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games. This is a very difficult task because the World Cup is an arena beyond their reach, while at the SEA Games, Thailand is still a much higher-class opponent than Vietnam, having won 14 consecutive gold medals at the regional sports festival.

Right after the AVC Nations Cup, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team returned to Quang Ninh, with 10 days of training to prepare for the VTV Cup 2025, taking place from June 28 to July 5 in Vinh Phuc .
