On July 1, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Science and Technology held a ceremony to announce and hand over decisions on personnel work to its affiliated units including: Academy of Science and Technology Strategy, Department of Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute.
Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung chaired the ceremony.
At the ceremony, representatives of the Department of Organization and Personnel announced the decisions on personnel transfer and appointment of the Minister of Science and Technology for 3 units.
Mr. Pham Dinh Nguyen, Deputy Director of the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (Nafosted), was transferred and appointed to the position of Director of the Academy of Science and Technology Strategy.
Mr. Vu Van Tich, Director of the Academy of Science, Technology and Innovation, was appointed as Deputy Director of the Academy of Science and Technology Strategy.
Mr. Tran Van Nghia, Deputy Director of the Academy of Science, Technology and Innovation, was transferred to hold the position of Deputy Director of the Academy of Science and Technology Strategy.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Giang, Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Science and Technology Journal, was appointed to the position of Deputy Director of the Academy of Science and Technology Strategy and concurrently Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Science and Technology Journal until further decision.
Mr. Tran Minh Tan, Deputy Director of the Institute of Information and Communication Strategy, was appointed Deputy Director of the Academy of Science and Technology Strategy, concurrently holding the position of Director of the Institute of Strategy.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Khai, Director of the Department of Radiation and Nuclear Safety, was appointed Deputy Director of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Linh, Deputy Director of the Department of Radiation and Nuclear Safety, was assigned as Acting Director of the Department of Radiation and Nuclear Safety.
Mr. Pham Quang Minh's term as Deputy Director of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute was extended from August 1, 2024 until he reaches retirement age according to regulations.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said that the Academy of Science and Technology Strategy currently has more than 6 affiliated units, including 2 strategy institutes, 2 training schools, 2 magazines and a number of centers.
With a scale 6 times larger than before and a mission 6 to 10 times larger, the Academy is facing a wide open space for development.
The Minister emphasized that the policy of the Standing Committee is to assign the Director of the Academy to focus on leadership and administration, creating a favorable environment and mechanism for units to operate independently and develop, and at the same time finding a good leadership team to effectively operate each unit.
According to the Minister, in the context of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation becoming the three main pillars of national development, the need for knowledge and skills training at all levels, from central to local, is very large. Training needs to ensure effectiveness and substance so that learners can apply it in practice.
Regarding the Vietnam Journal of Science and Technology, the Minister stated that this is a specialized scientific journal with a great mission, requiring in-depth articles, theories on institutions and policies, as well as disseminating good domestic and international experiences, serving society and the country's development process.
The Minister also sent his congratulations to the newly appointed officials and expressed his hope that in their new positions they will unite, promote their capacity, and excellently complete their assigned tasks./.
