On the afternoon of July 12, the Party Committee and Command of the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard held a conference to inform about the situation in the province's border and island areas.
Attending the conference were comrades in the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Provincial Border Guard Command; Deputy Secretaries of the Party Committees of border communes participating in the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Provincial Border Guard Command; representatives of the commanders of departments, offices and affiliated units.
At the conference, on behalf of the Party Committee, Colonel Nguyen Van Linh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Commander of the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard Command, informed delegates about the situation in the border and island areas of Dak Lak province; the organization, functions and tasks of the Border Guard; and introduced programs and models to support people in socio -economic development in border areas.
Accordingly, Dak Lak province currently has a land border of 71.972 km adjacent to Mondulkiri province (Kingdom of Cambodia) and a national sea border of 93.19 km, with a coastline of more than 189 km. The border area of the province includes 16 communes and wards; there are 170 safe production teams at sea and 1,730 fishing boats operating regularly. Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard is composed of a Command Board and 16 affiliated agencies and units.
Over the past years, the Provincial Border Guard has implemented many practical programs to help people stabilize their lives, develop socio-economy, maintain security and order in border and island areas such as: "Helping children go to school, adopted children of Border Guard stations", "Border Spring - Warming the hearts of villagers", "Accompanying women in border areas"...
Speaking at the conference, Colonel Nguyen Van Linh emphasized: Party committees and commanders of units need to continue to promote their roles in managing and protecting national border security and sovereignty ; promptly grasp and forecast the situation, avoid being passive and surprised ; at the same time, do a good job of propaganda and mobilizing people to strictly comply with the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws.
In addition, it is necessary to combine inspection and control work with propaganda work; closely coordinate with local Party committees and authorities in implementing programs and projects to support people in socio-economic development, contributing to improving people's lives, building a national border defense posture associated with a solid national defense posture and people's security.
Colonel Do Quang Tham, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard Command, emphasized: Party committees and commanders of units need to continue promoting the tradition of solidarity, unity, proactiveness and creativity in performing tasks; maintaining discipline and order, ready to receive and complete all assigned tasks.
In particular, he hoped that the Party committees and authorities of localities in border and island areas would continue to pay attention to, coordinate with, and accompany the Border Guard, creating favorable conditions for the Border Guard to successfully fulfill its tasks of managing and firmly protecting national sovereignty and border security, contributing to socio-economic development and maintaining peace in the Fatherland's fence.
