Comprehensive review of TikTok begins in Vietnam

Hà Nội MớiHà Nội Mới15/05/2023

From May 15, 2023, the Ministry of Information and Communications will conduct a comprehensive inspection of TikTok's operations in Vietnam to ensure the platform's compliance with the law during its operations and business activities. In April 2023, the Ministry of Information and Communications pointed out 6 violations of this social networking platform in Vietnam. Accordingly, TikTok has grown strongly in the Vietnamese market since 2019; however, strong development does not go hand in hand with the responsibility to maintain and manage a healthy and safe platform for users. Previously, the TikTok platform was mainly purely for entertainment, but since 2022, many anti-Party and anti-State contents have appeared on the TikTok platform. Along with that, many toxic contents have developed strongly, creating trends, negatively affecting Vietnamese children.
