Storm No. 6 makes landfall in Thua Thien Hue - Da Nang, beware of flooding on Huong River

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that this afternoon, October 27, storm Tra Mi (storm number 6) was on land in Thua Thien Hue - Da Nang . The strongest wind near the storm center is level 8-9 (62-88km/h), gusting to level 11.

Forecast in the next 3 hours, the storm moves to the Southwest, speed about 10-15km/h.

Affected by storm No. 6, at Con Co Island (Quang Tri) strong winds level 8, gusts level 9; Cu Lao Cham Island ( Quang Nam ) strong winds level 8, gusts level 10; Ly Son Island (Quang Ngai) level 6, gusts level 7; Nam Dong (Thua Thien Hue) strong winds level 8, gusts level 10; Cam Le (Da Nang) strong winds level 8, gusts level 9.

In addition, last night and this morning (October 27), Ha Tinh - Da Nang had heavy to very heavy rain, total rainfall from 100-200mm, locally over 350mm in some places.

The meteorological agency also issued flood warnings on the Huong River in Thua Thien Hue.

Accordingly, the flood on the Huong River (Thua Thien Hue) is currently rising rapidly. The water level at 10:00 a.m. on October 27, on the Huong River at Kim Long station was 2.06m, 0.06m above the alarm level (BĐ)2.

In the next 12 hours, the flood on the Huong River will continue to rise. In the next 12-24 hours, the flood on the Huong River will continue to rise and fluctuate at level BĐ2-BĐ3.

High risk of landslides in mountainous areas, riverbank landslides, localized flooding in low-lying areas along rivers and urban areas of Thua Thien Hue province.

At an online meeting on response to storm No. 6 held on the morning of October 27, a representative of the Ministry of National Defense said that since the storm formed, the unit has mobilized 275,480 people, including more than 80,019 soldiers, 199,461 militiamen, and 12,503 military vehicles of all kinds, ready to respond to the storm.
