(Dan Tri) - German newspapers commented after the home team defeated the Vietnamese women's volleyball team with a score of 3-0 and won the right to continue in the world championship.

In the second match of Group G of the Women's Volleyball World Cup in Thailand, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team failed to surprise a very strong opponent, Germany (ranked 11th in the world). We were defeated with a score of 0-3 (18-25, 17-25, 21-25).

With this result, Germany has won the right to enter the round of 16. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team was eliminated when in the following match, Poland won 3-1 against Kenya.

Commenting on this match, the German newspaper Sport wrote: “Germany made no mistakes and easily defeated the Vietnamese women's volleyball team with a score of 3-0. Initially, the Vietnamese women's team encountered some difficulties in the first pass, but after a short time, they overcame this problem.

The German blockers also showed some gaps in set 1, but in set 2, they performed better and scored 9 points from blocks throughout the match.

In set 3, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team took the lead, increasing the drama. However, after a meeting, coach Giulio Bregoli's players quickly regained stability and ended the match with an easy 3-0 victory.

With this result, the German women's volleyball team has quickly won a ticket to the round of 16 and the match against Poland on August 27 will decide the top spot in Group G.

The Sueddeutsche newspaper commented: “Germany won an important victory over the Vietnamese women's volleyball team with a score of 3-0. Athlete Lina Alsmeier could not hide her joy after the victory: “We are really happy. This was a match that the team had to win. I am very happy that the whole team played confidently.”

In this match, Camilla Weitzel was the top scorer of Germany with 15 points. Next was Hanna Orthmann with 14 points, and Lina Alsmeier scored 13 points.

After a day of rest, the German team will enter the decisive match against Poland to win the top spot in the group. Only the top position in the group will help Germany avoid Olympic champions Italy in the round of 16.

Another German newspaper, Olympic, wrote: “Germany confident of entering the round of 16 after victory over the Vietnamese women's volleyball team”. They emphasized: “Coach Giulio Bregoli's students had a strong performance against the team participating in the world championship for the first time, the Vietnamese women's team. This victory helped Germany complete the minimum goal of passing the group stage”.

Sportschau newspaper said that Germany only had a little problem in set 3 when the Vietnamese women's volleyball team took the lead, but after that, coach Giulio Bregoli's team handled the situation well and won.

The newspaper particularly praised Hanna Orthmann: “She made a strong impact after being brought into the starting lineup. Orthmann has very reliable blocking and attacking ability.”

Sportschau also warned that Germany needs to win against Poland in the final match to avoid the world's strongest team, Italy, in the round of 16.

In the final match, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will face Kenya at 5:00 p.m. on August 27. Despite being eliminated, Coach Tuan Kiet's team still has a goal of achieving a historic victory in their first participation in the world tournament. In the friendly match before the tournament, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team won 4-0 against Kenya.
