Thai Nguyen Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Company provides full range of rice, corn and fertilizer seeds to serve people's crop production needs. |
To achieve high crop yields, adequate preparation of agricultural materials and quality assurance is one of the key factors. Mr. Do Xuan Hien, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thai Nguyen Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Company, shared: Before the production season, we have prepared more than 10,000 tons of various fertilizers and over 100 tons of high-quality rice and corn seeds in warehouses and stores. All are imported from reputable production units, ensuring standards to serve farmers.
Notably, from July 1, 2025, although agricultural materials are subject to a 5% value-added tax (VAT), the Company has coordinated with manufacturers to keep fertilizer prices stable.
“We understand that the price of materials directly affects the production costs of the people. Therefore, the producers have calculated in advance to ensure that the selling price does not increase, supporting the people in the context of many economic challenges,” - Mr. Hien emphasized. This initiative not only helps farmers reduce the cost burden but also creates conditions for them to confidently invest in the crop.
The transition between spring and summer crops in Thai Nguyen takes place quickly, requiring urgency and flexibility from the people. Ms. Tran Thi Lam, in Hoc hamlet, Linh Son ward, shared: After finishing the spring rice harvest, my family plowed the fields, turned the stubble upside down and added biological products to enhance straw decomposition, limiting pests and diseases for crops. This year's summer crop, my family planted 3 sao of rice. I used tray seedlings to save time and effort. Tray seedlings help the rice plants grow strong and take root quickly.

The application of tray planting or direct sowing techniques is becoming more and more popular in Thai Nguyen, especially in communes with favorable farming conditions. Thanks to the guidance of agricultural extension officers, people know how to handle seedlings and take care of rice in the early stages, helping the rice plants grow and develop well.
This year, farmers have planted major rice varieties such as TH3-3, Th3-5, Syn98, Dai Thom 8, J02, and Nep Cai Hoa Vang... As of July 15, the province has planted over 85% of the area. Thai Nguyen strives to complete the planting plan in July.
In fact, crop production in Thai Nguyen often faces storms and rains, along with the risk of pests and diseases outbreaks due to complex weather conditions. The dual task for farmers and the Agriculture - Environment sector is not only to plant enough areas and on schedule, but also to proactively take measures to prevent and control pests and diseases right from the beginning of the season.
Mr. Trieu Duc Nghia, Head of the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection, Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of the province, advised: Early-season rice is very susceptible to bacterial leaf blight during the heading and ripening stages. Therefore, farmers should not plant rice varieties that were infected with bacterial leaf blight in the previous crop; especially, it is necessary to apply balanced fertilizers, not excess nitrogen fertilizers to limit the harmful development of the disease. In addition, pests such as brown planthoppers, stem borers, and rice blast are also at risk of outbreak if not controlled promptly.
In response, the Department of Agriculture and Environment recommends that people pay attention to checking their fields regularly, especially during the tillering and flowering stages, to detect early signs of abnormalities and spray for timely prevention.
In addition, people need to pay attention to using pesticides properly, following the "4 rights" principle (right drug, right dose, right time, right way). The abuse of chemical drugs not only causes costs but also increases the risk of pesticide resistance in pests, long-term effects on the environment and health.
The 2025 crop season is taking place in a bustling working atmosphere, with careful preparation and determination of the people. Although there are many challenges from unfavorable weather and the risk of pests and diseases, the companionship of functional agencies and businesses is adding motivation for farmers to firmly believe in a productive crop, contributing to affirming the position of Thai Nguyen agriculture in the socio-economic development picture of the province.
