From the first newspapers such as Nu gioi chung (1919) edited by Ms. Suong Nguyet Anh - to Tieng goi phu nu (1945), Phu nu Viet Nam (1948), Phu nu Thanh pho Ho Chi Minh (1975), Phu nu Thu do (1986)... the female press has always accompanied, reflected, led and encouraged the cause of liberation and development of Vietnamese women through each historical period. Journalists holding pens and guns, female journalists on the front lines or on the media front in peacetime, have been and are important witnesses and subjects of the revolutionary and sustainable development of journalism...
Nowadays, in response to the demands of a professional, modern and humane press, it is essential to study and evaluate the role of the press from a gender perspective. “We expect the Workshop to be a place where wisdom, experience and aspirations for innovation converge; an opportunity to affirm the role of women in the 100-year journey of revolutionary journalism, and to inspire the press - especially female journalism - to continue to accompany the women's movement and the sustainable development of the country in the era of the Vietnamese people's rise”, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen emphasized.
Discussing at the workshop, Prof. Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan, former member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, former Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Magazine, former Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics , expressed his view that in the new era of development, women and female journalists play an increasingly important role.
Especially in the context of rapid development of science and technology, with the strong development of AI - artificial intelligence, many issues have been raised that require effective solutions to promote women's development.
“The development of women needs to be placed in the general development of the nation and the country. In particular, with the development of today's society, families are facing many problems, especially family breakdown which is creating social instability. Protecting women, protecting mothers means protecting motherhood; not only the lives of women but also the survival and development of the country and the nation. Mothers are the safest "support" in society", emphasized Prof. Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan.
According to Professor Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan, the press and female journalists need to speak up to protect women's development, so that women are evaluated and recognized in their correct position, role and status, to promote the whole society to implement the women's development strategies set forth by the Party and State.
At the workshop, delegates discussed and analyzed to clarify two key contents: "Vietnamese Revolutionary Press: 100 years of accompanying the women's movement" and "Revolutionary Press with the mission of women in the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise".
