In the era of creative advertising, AI is seen as an extended arm, supporting content creators to "breathe life" into Vietnamese identity to realize unique advertising ideas, embodying the spirit of the nation, connecting emotions and winning people's hearts.
This is the opinion of leading experts in the field of advertising at the Forum “AI in creative advertising: From data to emotion” recently held in Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of nearly 400 CEOs, CMOs, marketing experts and representatives of domestic and international corporations and media companies.
The event is part of a series of activities of the Vietnam Creative Advertising Awards - Van Xuan Awards 2025 organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and Vietnam Advertising Association. VINAMA Media Joint Stock Company cooperates with the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports to implement.
According to a report by global management consulting firm McKinsey, from 2017 to 2023, the rate of AI application in businesses remained at around 50%. Just 1 year later (2024), this number increased sharply to 72%.
The advertising industry is not out of this wave, from OpenAI's ChatGPT to Google's VEO 3, a series of AI Agents have been born to support customer data analysis, content writing, and even complete video production. The above trend opens up a new direction for the Vietnamese advertising industry in the digital age.
Mr. Tran Viet Tan, Vice President of Vietnam Advertising Association, Chairman of VINAMA Media Joint Stock Company, acknowledged that AI is bringing many completely new ways to approach customers, especially in the field of outdoor advertising.
However, AI can only provide and support data processing. Humans are the ones who refine the identity elements to breathe life into the data, turning it into stories, creative advertising ideas rich in emotions; with messages that move the heart, touch the soul, and linger in the minds of consumers, Mr. Tan emphasized.
Sharing on the topic “AI in art creation and film production: A powerful tool or a threat of replacement?”, Mr. Nguyen Phan Giang - Founder and CEO of Alien Media affirmed that no matter how developed technology is, it cannot replace the central role of humans in the creative process.
According to Mr. Giang, AI should only be seen as an extension, handling technical aspects, helping creators realize ideas, and creating strong emotional connections with audiences.
At the forum, many experts also affirmed that AI is just data, only humans can create emotions, spread human values and inspire unlimited creativity.
Mr. Nguyen Truong Son - Chairman of the Vietnam Advertising Association, Co-Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Van Xuan Awards 2025 emphasized that the Vietnamese identity and spirit are the key to creating a difference. This is also the journey that the Vietnam Creative Advertising Awards aims to honor outstanding campaigns and creative ideas, contributing to raising the position of the Vietnamese advertising industry on the world map.
According to Mr. Son, AI acts as a powerful support tool for data analysis, content personalization and performance optimization. The smooth combination of technological advances and cultural depth not only creates a unique advertising strategy, but also creates a breakthrough in the era of creative advertising.
