On the morning of July 6, at the Dan Tri 20-year tournament - Bright New Day , the presence of runner-up Tu Anh became one of the highlights that attracted the attention of the audience. Familiar with the elegant and gentle image on the red carpet, Tu Anh this time surprised everyone when she appeared in a dynamic sports outfit, with a determined demeanor and a fiery playing style.

From the first minutes of stepping onto the field, the beauty born in 1993 showed that she was not just there for “fun”. Although not a professional athlete, Tu Anh skillfully handled the ball and worked well with her teammates.

She moved constantly, swung her racket firmly and was not afraid to sweat to keep up with each score. “Once I hold the racket, I have to play with all my might, whether it looks good or not comes later,” the runner-up humorously shared on the sidelines of the match.

Before the competition, Tu Anh spent many sessions practicing with her personal trainer and her group of close friends who play pickleball. “I used to be a very lazy person, after giving birth my health deteriorated a lot, I had to go to the hospital every month. But since I started playing pickleball, I have not been to the hospital once,” she revealed.

Every week, she plays regularly 4-5 times, sometimes playing continuously for 3-4 hours. Her passion for this sport even follows her sleep: "I once dreamed that I was playing pickleball, and I dreamed that I was hitting the ball beautifully, but before I could score, I woke up... because my baby was crying," the beauty said.

Her companion at this tournament is Nguyen The Nghia, who the runner-up jokingly calls her “close partner”. The two have competed together in many friendly matches before. When asked about her competition goals, Tu Anh did not hesitate: “We agreed that one is to return early, two is to win”.

A warm moment at the tournament that made the audience emotional especially was when Tu Anh's husband and son appeared to enthusiastically cheer for her.

Although a quiet person, Tu Anh's husband, businessman Gia Loc (in the blue shirt on the right of the photo), is very supportive of his wife's hard work in sports and especially her participation in the Dan Tri newspaper pickleball tournament. He quietly accompanied his wife throughout the tournament, taking care of their son while Tu Anh was active on the field.
Tu Anh's son, although still young, was very excited to see his mother competing on the field. His proud eyes and the silent companionship of her husband were great motivation for the runner-up as she “burned” herself out with the new sport.

This tournament also has a special meaning when all the competition fees are used to build 5 Charity houses for people in Cao Bang . Tu Anh emotionally shared: "I am very honored to participate in an event that not only inspires healthy and positive living but also makes practical contributions to the community."

Duong Tu Anh was crowned first runner-up at the Miss Vietnam 2012 pageant at the age of 19. She then participated and graduated from the Academy of Journalism and Communication, and worked as an editor at VTV. She got married in 2018 and is now the mother of two young children.

Many spectators recognized Tu Anh on the field and asked to take souvenir photos with her. The runner-up kindly agreed.

Her appearance at the Dan Tri newspaper pickleball tournament this time not only shows the image of a healthy, friendly and dynamic Tu Anh, but also affirms: She is a modern woman who can be both gentle and strong; both a radiant runner-up on stage and a dedicated warrior on the sports field.
