8/8 Vietnamese students won prizes at the Asia-Pacific Physics Olympiad

On the afternoon of May 28, the Ministry of Education and Training announced that all 8 students of the Vietnamese team participating in the Asia- Pacific Physics Olympiad (APhO) 2023 won prizes, including 4 bronze medals and 4 certificates of merit.

Specifically, the students who won Bronze medals include: Phan The Manh and Nguyen Tuan Phong (grade 12, Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, Bac Ninh province); Vo Hoang Hai (grade 11, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences, University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi); Than The Cong (grade 11, Bac Giang High School for the Gifted, Bac Giang.

Vietnam team to attend Asia- Pacific Physics Olympiad 2023

The four students who received certificates of merit include: Vu Ngo Hoang Duong (grade 12, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences, University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi); Nguyen Minh Tai Loc (grade 12, Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted, Thua Thien Hue); Le Viet Hoang Anh (grade 12, Lam Son High School for the Gifted, Thanh Hoa); Nguyen Tuan Duong (grade 12, Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong).

The 2023 Asia-Pacific Physics Olympiad hosted by Mongolia will take place from May 21 to 29; students will take theoretical and practical exams; each exam will last 300 minutes (5 hours).

This year, 26 teams from 25 countries and territories with 195 contestants participated in APhO. With 100% of contestants winning prizes, the Vietnamese team is one of 7 teams with 100% of students winning prizes.
