According to the report on the socio -economic situation in May and the first 5 months of 2025 of the General Statistics Office, in the first 5 months of 2025, the total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue at current prices nationwide is estimated at 2.85 million billion VND, an increase of 9.7% over the same period last year (the same period in 2024 increased by 8.8%).

Of which, retail sales of goods are estimated at VND 2.18 million billion, accounting for 76.5% of the total and increasing by 8.2% over the same period in 2024; retail sales of goods compared to the same period last year in some localities increased quite well: Ho Chi Minh City increased by 8.6%, Hanoi increased by 7.5% and Da Nang increased by 7.4%.

Revenue from accommodation and catering services is estimated at VND 340,300 billion, accounting for 11.9% of the total and increasing by 15.2% over the same period in 2024; retail sales of goods compared to the same period last year in some localities increased quite well: Ho Chi Minh City increased by 18.3% and Da Nang increased by 18%.

Tourism revenue is estimated at VND 38,400 billion, accounting for 1.4% of the total and increasing by 24.7% over the same period in 2024; tourism revenue compared to the same period last year in some localities increased quite well: Ho Chi Minh City increased by 30.4%, Dong Nai increased by 29.1% and Da Nang increased by 19.9%. Other service revenue is estimated at VND 290,400 billion, accounting for 10.2% of the total and increasing by 12.9% over the same period in 2024.
