Nguyen Minh Xuan Thao (student of class 22CNQTH02, International Studies, University of Foreign Languages, University of Danang ), and Secretary of the An Thi 1 Youth Union (An Hai Nam ward, Son Tra district) expressed that coming from a family with difficult circumstances, since childhood he received great support and help from everyone around him.

Realizing that, Thao always tries to study to escape poverty and build her own dreams; at the same time, she understands thateducation is the fastest way for students in difficult circumstances to rise up and change their lives. Because only letters can help them have a brighter future. For more than three years, at her family's house on Nguyen Cong Tru Street, Thao has spent time and effort to open a free English class. Thao realizes that many students in the neighborhood have difficult circumstances but do not have the conditions or opportunities to access knowledge, especially foreign languages.

At first, the class had two students and now there are five. Every week, Thao teaches two sessions, each session is two hours of grammar, vocabulary and practicing listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. “Nowadays, in the era of international integration, I think equipping knowledge of English is very important. I hope that the class will be a bridge of knowledge for students to study well as well as open up their own dreams. Maybe, it will be the foundation and opportunity for students to confidently step into the international environment in the near future,” Thao happily said.

In the early days, through knowledge testing to start the class, there were students who did not have basic knowledge of English. Through teaching sessions and mock tests in class as well as at school, the children gradually improved through average scores. To promptly grasp knowledge as well as teaching methods according to standards, Thao often reads specialized books to make teaching more effective.

Nguyen Thi Thu Quyen (grade 8, Nguyen Van Cu Secondary School), a member of the class, has a difficult family situation and currently lives with her grandmother. Quyen said that coming to the class, from a state of lacking basic English, Quyen is now confident in communicating through a diverse vocabulary. Quyen is happy because thanks to approaching and learning English from Ms. Thao, she has gradually painted a simple dream for the future. At the same time, she hopes that the class will be maintained so that she and her friends have the opportunity to improve their English skills.

For Le Khac Tai (student of class 22CDT3, majoring in Mechatronics), Head of the Teaching Department of the Social Work Team, University of Technology (University of Danang), participating in free teaching for visually impaired students at the Danang Center for Supporting the Development of Inclusive Education for over two years is a beautiful memory. Every week, Tai teaches two evenings for visually impaired boarding students at the center. The team teaches primary school (Math and Vietnamese), secondary school and high school (Math, Physics and Chemistry).

This year, the class has 3 students preparing to take the high school graduation exam. Therefore, the whole team spends a lot of time imparting knowledge, helping them confidently enter the important exam. According to Tai, in recent years, many students in the class graduated from middle school and high school like their peers. This makes the whole team happy because it has supported the knowledge to help them reach their dreams soon. At the same time, participating in teaching in the class helps Tai appreciate what he has more, respect differences to spread love and positive energy.

Like Thao and Tai, for over 4 years, Pham Thi Nhat Nghi (32 years old, Thanh Khe district) has been teaching drawing at a free class for disadvantaged students in Trung Binh A3 residential area (Thac Gian ward, Thanh Khe district). After graduating with a degree in interior design from Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, Nghi decided to return to her hometown of Da Nang to live and work. Thanks to Nghi's dedicated and loving teaching, many students soon realized their passion and devoted themselves to setting future goals through drawing. For Nghi, joy does not need to be grand or ornate, but only needs small things from simple actions. Every day that passes, the progress of disadvantaged students helps Nghi feel joy, adding love and motivation to her journey of sowing dreams.
