When art gives wings to love

On May 30, the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum organized a children's painting exhibition with the theme "Lifting Dreams 2025". The event was organized in collaboration with the Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Orphans of the City, Hope Village and Hoa Mai Center. The third time it was held, the special exhibition marked a lasting and meaningful journey in accompanying disadvantaged children, while bringing art closer to them.

Art space connects hearts

Entering the exhibition space, viewers are led into the colorful, dreamy world of childhood. Nearly 50 paintings on display are the creative results of disadvantaged children, disabled children and orphans in the city, expressed through many materials such as wax, oil pastel, watercolor... Each painting is a "door opening to the inner world", expressing simple but strong dreams: to study, to play, to live in a peaceful, safe world. Despite difficult and deprived circumstances, the children still paint a colorful picture of hope - love for their homeland, the desire to rise up, and faith in a bright future.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Trinh, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum, said: “We hope the exhibition will become a useful playground, a place for children to express their talents and passion for art. More importantly, this is an opportunity for them to feel that they are seen, listened to, and shared, thereby arousing their faith, adding strength, and helping them to be more confident on their journey of integration and self-development.”

Not only stopping at displaying paintings, the exhibition also brings children a real festival. On the opening day, children can participate in many exciting experiential activities such as printing Dong Ho folk paintings, printing colored graphic paintings, modeling clay... thereby, helping them explore many materials and techniques in traditional and modern art.

Connect love, spread share

“Lifting the Wings of Dreams 2025” is not only an opportunity for children to draw their dreams, but also a bridge connecting love, bringing a profound humane message to the community, a reminder of the community’s responsibility towards future generations. Today’s children, especially orphans, disabled children, and disadvantaged children, are striving to rise up every day. They need attention, a hand to hold, a hug of encouragement, and constant companionship from family, school, and society. The exhibition therefore becomes a bridge connecting hearts.

This year, the exhibition made a special mark thanks to the support of businesses in giving gifts and introducing handicrafts of people with disabilities, contributing to connecting the community in a practical and meaningful way. At the opening ceremony, representatives of the units presented certificates and gifts to the children whose paintings were selected for display. The gifts are a source of spiritual motivation, supporting the children on their journey to overcome difficulties.

Ms. Trinh expressed: “We hope that the exhibition will bring happiness, inspire confidence, and motivate children in special circumstances. Through this art space, the museum hopes to contribute to raising social awareness of the role of art in educating and caring for children, especially disadvantaged children; at the same time, spreading the spirit of responsibility, sharing and connection between organizations and individuals in the journey of accompanying children on the path of comprehensive development”.

Taking place from May 30 to June 30, the exhibition “Lifting up Dreams 2025” promises to be an interesting meeting place for families, schools and students during the summer. This is not only a place to admire emotional works, but also a space to experience art, spread love, and convey messages of compassion and sharing. More importantly, the exhibition is a reminder to the community of the responsibility to care for and accompany the future generation, the green buds that are striving every day to overcome adversity.
