On the evening of November 25, the Central Propaganda Department coordinated with the Central External Relations Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Public Security, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the Border Guard Command, and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists to organize the award ceremony of the 3rd National Art Photography Contest and Exhibition "Pride of a Border Strip" in 2024.

This is one of the activities to continue to propagate and affirm the correct policies and guidelines of the Party and State, and the efforts of localities in implementing Resolution 33-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the National Border Protection Strategy and the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

At the same time, this is also a practical activity towards the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day.

According to information from the organizing committee, within 5 months, it attracted nearly 2,000 photo contestants with more than 14,000 photos sent from all over the country, double that of 2022.

The Award Council honored the 22 best works of the competition and selected 128 works to organize an exhibition to introduce to the public across the country, the Vietnamese community abroad and international friends.

The two first prize winning works this time include: “Coffee from the Central Highlands – Pride of Vietnamese Brand” by author Nguyen Khac Hao (Hung Yen) and “National Flag Flying on Hill A1” by author Vu Minh Hien (Hanoi).

Speaking at the award ceremony, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia commented that many works have contributed to spreading examples of simple yet noble and sacred actions to honor the forces that are day and night firmly protecting the borders, national territorial sovereignty, and the living space of the nation, highlighting the glorious 80-year tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army.

The Head of the Propaganda Department also noted the need to build a force to do propaganda work on national borders and territories, with strong political will and a deep understanding of border and territory work.

The most important of these are the village elders, village chiefs, prestigious people in the border community, and officers and soldiers of border posts, the forces directly responsible for maintaining, protecting and building the border.
