According to information from Quang Ninh Electricity Company, implementing the emulation program "Electricity-saving families" in 2024, the whole province has 6,000 participating households. At the end of the program, 147 households achieved the title "Electricity-saving families".
In order to implement Directive No. 20/CT-TTg dated June 8, 2023 of the Prime Minister on enhancing electricity saving in the period of 2023-2025 and the following years, from May 25-31, Quang Ninh Electricity Company organized the launch of the emulation program "Electricity-saving families" in 2024.
The program is implemented in 6 localities with large electricity consumption, including: Dong Trieu, Uong Bi, Quang Yen, Ha Long, Cam Pha, Mong Cai with over 6,000 customers registered to participate.
To achieve the title of “Energy-saving family”, each family must save at least 10% of total electricity consumption compared to the same period in 2023 and must save continuously for 5 months (6,7,8,9,10/2024). In addition to meeting the above criteria, households need to use energy-saving products such as: Solar panels, energy-saving lighting systems (T5, T8, compact fluorescent lamps), inverter air conditioners, etc.
In December 2024, the local Electricity Department organized a summary and awarded prizes to households. Accordingly, a total of 147 households achieved the title of "Energy-saving family", of which 20 households achieved the title of "Typical electricity-saving family". The electricity output saved by households in 5 months compared to the same period in 2023 was nearly 130,000 kWh.
