A generator of Dai Ninh Hydropower Plant is operating.
According to the Implementation Plan of Power Plan VIII issued together with Decision No. 262/QD/TTg dated April 1, 2024 and Decision No. 1682/QD/TTg dated December 28, 2024 of the Prime Minister, Lam Dong province (newly) approved 39 power source projects with a total capacity of 8,166.51 MW.
Of these, there are 11 hydropower projects with a total capacity of 191 MW; 20 wind power projects with a total capacity of 1,155.9 MW; 3 solar power projects with a total capacity of 263.61 MW; 2 LNG thermal power projects with a capacity of 4,500 MW; 1 coal-fired thermal power project with a capacity of 1,980 MW; 2 waste-to-energy projects with a capacity of 20 MW.
On April 15, 2025, the Prime Minister also issued Decision No. 768/QD-TTg approving the adjustment of national power development for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, creating favorable conditions for implementing power projects in Lam Dong province.
Lam Dong is currently supporting the acceleration of the implementation progress to soon form the Son My Power Center (BOT Son My I and Son My II Thermal Power Plants with a total capacity of 4,500 MW; at the same time, accelerating investment in the Dak Nong aluminum electrolysis project.
The province also completed documents and legal procedures to accept solar power projects, ensuring they go into operation and commercial development in 2025, coordinating with relevant ministries and branches to remove obstacles for renewable energy projects on land in the national titanium mineral reserve area and projects overlapping with the Bauxite planning.
