Coastal commodity exports have many bright spots

In the first 6 months of this year, the export turnover of goods in this region is estimated at 455.1 million USD, an increase of nearly 30% over the same period last year and showing very positive growth. Of which, the seafood group contributed 117.2 million USD (up 16.13%), the agricultural group is estimated at 19.3 million USD (up 2.9 times, dragon fruit alone reached 6.8 million USD and increased by more than 30% over the same period). For other groups of goods, they still play the role of "locomotive" when participating in exports, bringing about 318.6 million USD to the locality (up more than 31%), of which footwear exports increased 2.6 times over the same period in 2024...

At the same time, the main export markets of this area continued to be maintained and had a positive development trend. The Asian market increased by more than 18%, Europe increased by 76.75%, America increased by 62.23%, while the African and Oceanian markets also maintained a fairly high growth rate compared to the same period.

The above-mentioned export activities have contributed to promoting the production and processing of a number of related products to maintain a remarkable growth rate. Specifically, in the first half of 2025, footwear products in this area reached an output of more than 3 million pairs, an increase of 2.06 times over the same period, while the output of Jackets reached 4.755 million pieces, an increase of 16.75% over the same period. For frozen fish and meat, the output reached 6,869.6 tons (an increase of nearly 10%), frozen shrimp reached an estimated 953.9 tons (an increase of 50%), animal feed products reached 124,690 tons (an increase of 9.75%)...

According to the functional sector, up to now, goods in the coastal area of the province have been directly exported to 56 countries and territories around the world . The main ones are Japan (seafood and garment products, paper products), the United States (frozen shrimp, canned fish, footwear, wooden furniture), Taiwan (garments), South Korea (frozen squid and octopus, dried squid). In addition, there are also Cambodia, the Philippines (raw materials for animal feed processing) and some European countries such as Germany, the UK, Italy (consumption of seafood, wooden furniture, footwear) ...

It is known that local export enterprises have constantly made efforts to improve their brand reputation and proactively integrate into the international economy. Currently, in the coastal area of the province, there are 5 enterprises recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade as prestigious export enterprises, including: Binh Thuan - Nha Be Garment Joint Stock Company, Phan Thiet Garment Export Joint Stock Company, Thong Thuan Company Limited, Hai Nam Company Limited, Cao Thanh Phat Import Export Company Limited.

After the merger, Lam Dong Department of Industry and Trade has assessed and analyzed the task groups to focus on implementing in the second half of 2025 and the coming time, thereby contributing to promoting the province's socio-economic growth to reach 8% or more.
