After Dong Nai merged with Binh Phuoc and took the name Dong Nai province, the provincial leaders had a meeting with the sports industry and the province's football team playing in the National First Division.
In mid-July, the leaders of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee had a meeting and worked with Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Football Club. Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Truong Son chaired the meeting to hear a report on the operation situation as well as orientation on July 14.
Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee also proposed to hand over Dong Nai Club to Cong Phuong's team to take over.
Before the news that Dong Nai Club was officially dissolved yesterday, a representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai province said that the transfer is still in progress and there is no official information about this from the old team.
Cong Phuong's team will take over Dong Nai Club and change its name to Truong Tuoi Dong Nai.
Previously, at the working session between the province and Binh Phuoc Club, the representative of Binh Phuoc Club also said that in the first two seasons after receiving Binh Phuoc Club, the team achieved many remarkable achievements, notably winning the bronze medal of the National First Division in the 2023-2024 season and the silver medal of the National First Division in the 2024-2025 season.
In addition, it is proposed to change the name to Dong Nai Truong Tuoi Club in the future. In the upcoming transfer, Binh Phuoc Club will take over Dong Nai Stadium.
According to coach Ngo Quang Sang, after the 2024-2025 season, a series of Dong Nai players will end their contracts because the leadership only signed them for the season. His own contract also ended right after the last season. Therefore, Dong Nai's old players have now scattered everywhere, looking for new destinations.
On the side of Binh Phuoc Club, the takeover of Dong Nai Stadium will also be accompanied by the renovation and upgrading of the stadium to make it the official home stadium of the team.
This will be the venue for the club’s activities, training and competitions in the future. In the immediate future, the team will keep Dong Xoai Stadium as their home ground until the end of phase 1 before moving to Dong Nai Stadium, and use it to serve the management and youth training work in the future.
