Request for opinion on awarding the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces

The Department of Propaganda and Training (General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army) has just issued Official Dispatch No. 5136/TH-TĐKT on requesting opinions on conferring the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces during the resistance war against the US to save the country to Lieutenant General Huynh Tien Phong, former Commander of Military Region 9 and Lieutenant General Luu Phuoc Luong, former Deputy Commander of Politics of Military Region 9.

In order to implement the commendation process prescribed in Clause 2, Article 44, Decree No. 152/2025/ND-CP dated June 14, 2025 of the Government regulating decentralization and delegation of authority in the field of emulation and commendation; detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Emulation and Commendation..., the Propaganda Department has therefore publicly posted a list of individuals proposed by units to be awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces during the period of resistance against the US to save the country to collect opinions from organizations and individuals.

The above list will be publicly posted within 10 working days: From August 20, 2025 to September 4, 2025.
