Recently, not only Japanese, Korean or American brands have increased promotions, but Chinese car manufacturers such as BYD, MG, Geely and Lynk & Co... have continuously reduced product prices by hundreds of millions of dong.
Chinese automakers are using price strategies to assert their position, especially as consumers increasingly pay attention to imported car models with modern designs, advanced technology and competitive prices.

In particular, Omoda & Jaecoo currently have a promotion program for Omoda C5 and Jaecoo J7 models with a discount of up to 90 million VND. Accordingly, 3 versions of Omoda C5 including Luxury, Premium, Flagship are all applied with a 50% discount on registration fees, equivalent to a discount of 34 - 59 million VND. After the promotion, C5 has a price ranging from 499 - 635 million VND.
For the Jaecoo J7 model, the gasoline-powered Flagship version is being offered at 739 million VND, equivalent to a 60 million VND discount. The J7 PHEV (SHS) version is discounted by 90 million VND, down to 879 million VND. After the promotion, the J7 has a price range of 739-879 million VND, lower than the listed price of models in the same segment such as Mazda CX-5 (749-979 million), Hyundai Tucson (769-989 million), Kia Sportage (779-999 million) or Honda CR-V (from 1.029 billion VND).

Similarly, Lynk & Co also launched a 50% discount on registration fees for models 06, 01, 05, 03+ and 09. The equivalent reduction is from 36.5 to 131.9 million VND depending on the model and registration location.
MG is currently offering incentives for many models of both VIN 2024 and 2025, including MG5, ZS, HS, MG7, MG4 EV as well as new models such as G50 or Cyberster. Promotional value ranges from 12-50 million depending on the model and version.

In the electric vehicle group, although BYD does not have a genuine promotion policy, the actual price of the car at the dealer is showing a sharp downward trend. According to a survey from a number of BYD dealers nationwide, the Atto 3 electric SUV model is being discounted by 80-130 million VND, bringing the actual selling price down to 686-756 million VND.
The higher-end BYD Seal series recorded a higher discount. Specifically, the Seal Advanced version was reduced by VND182 million, down to VND937 million. Meanwhile, the Seal Performance version was reduced by VND214 million, bringing the price to VND1.145 billion.

Some dealers are offering the Haval H6 HEV VIN 2023 for 740 million VND, equivalent to a reduction of 246 million VND compared to the listed price. This is the biggest reduction of the Haval H6 since its launch in the Vietnamese market...
Chinese cars have many outstanding advantages, including competitive prices, advanced technology and powerful engines, suitable for diverse consumer needs. Models such as Geely Coolray or Lynk & Co 09 are also equipped with high-end features usually only found in higher segments, helping to enhance the user experience. However, Chinese brands still face challenges in brand recognition and prejudice about long-lasting quality. Compared to Japanese and Korean competitors, Chinese cars need time to build trust in durability and resale value.
