The seminar is a continuation of a series of in-depth discussions on the development of cultural industries in Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular. In the context of the cultural industry becoming a key economic sector, building high-quality human resources and preserving national cultural identity are key factors for the sustainable development of this industry.

Speaking at the seminar, Editor-in-Chief of the Lao Dong Newspaper, journalist To Dinh Tuan said: The seminar was organized to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025); the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025); the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). At the same time, this is also a time to look back, evaluate and plan strategic steps in promoting the soft power of national culture, making the cultural industry a pillar of the creative economy and a driving force for sustainable development of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the whole country in general.
Also according to journalist To Dinh Tuan, Ho Chi Minh City, as the leading economic and cultural center of the country, where tradition and modernity intersect, is making strong efforts to affirm its position as a leading city in developing the cultural industry. However, amid the wave of globalization and international competition, the question is: What must we do to have enough resources, especially high-quality human resources, to create cultural products with Vietnamese identity but capable of competing in the regional and international markets? Joint efforts are needed to solve this difficult problem.

Besides, this is an important task, aiming to strengthen communication, raise awareness of the workforce, contributing to the development of the cultural industry in general of the whole country. "After two discussions of the Lao Dong Newspaper in 2024, we also submitted and issued Directive 30 to contribute to the development of the cultural industry, this is an important directive. The Government recognizes the potential and advantages of Vietnam in the field of cultural industry development. The Government assigned tasks not only to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism but also to all levels and sectors to strengthen the communication work of the cultural industry, human resource development is one of the next tasks. After summarizing and finding strengths and weaknesses, we built a new strategy for the development of the cultural industry, and are submitting a development strategy until 2030. In addition, after today's discussion, we will summarize and continue to supplement and complete to submit a new strategy. This strategy will be issued soon" - Mr. Le Minh Tuan said.
Sharing at the Seminar, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism Le Truong Hien Hoa emphasized that the cultural pillar is an important pillar for Ho Chi Minh City tourism. Because tourism has been and is enjoying the fruits of cultural development. Reality shows that tourism is the method, the path that many countries are investing in, exploiting the economic factors of cultural values, to promote the soft power of national and ethnic culture. At the same time, the value of the cultural industry is also the resource for tourism development.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has a cultural space, local human resources and human resources from other localities.
